Senior Accounting Analyst – Digital Assets

What You’ll Do

• Lead the monthly accounting close for one or more digital asset entities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Track and record crypto asset transactions (purchases, sales, loans, transfers, token deals, etc.) with precision and accuracy.
• Ensure digital asset balances are properly reflected in the financial statements, including the balance sheet and P&L.
• Review data flows from blockchains and APIs, investigate anomalies, and provide clear supporting documentation.
• Evaluate contracts for financial obligations and unique terms impacting accounting treatment.
• Partner with finance, operations, and tax teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance with evolving accounting standards.
• Support audits, prepare schedules for tax filings, and respond to ad hoc requests.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to streamline workflows and improve controls.
• Stay current on developments in crypto accounting and draft technical memos as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 4+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience, ideally with exposure to trading, investments, or digital assets.
• Strong understanding of GAAP with the ability to navigate complex transactions.
• Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain mechanics (experience using block explorers a plus).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets); SQL or Python familiarity is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is desirable.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly across teams.
• A self-starter mindset with the flexibility to adapt as priorities shift.
