Our client is a web3 venture capital firm. They focus on early-stage investments in crypto infrastructure and networks.

Role

We are searching for a Sr Accountant to join the firm. In that role, you will be a critical part of our finance team and serve as support for the firms VP of Finance and will also have the opportunity to assist in other important areas of the firm as needs may (and invariably will) arise.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track the fund’s investment portfolio, ensuring proper documentation and reporting of crypto asset transactions, including purchases, sales, transfers, and valuations
• Support portfolio accounting for crypto-based investments and ensure accurate tracking of capital calls, distributions, and performance
• Track and manage expenses related to fund operations, ensuring cost controls are in place and expenditures are in compliance with fund and firm requirements
• Develop and document internal controls, accounting policies, and process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
• Assist in ad‑hoc projects and initiatives to improve the accounting and finance function
• Assist in Management Company operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, fee calculations, expense allocations, budgeting, and forecasting
• Reconcile cash and digital asset positions and P&L across multiple exchanges, wallets, custodians and traditional bank accounts
• Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of K‑1s and specific tax reporting for investors and management company regulatory filings
• Coordinate and prepare quarterly and annual capital statements, detailed financial reports, budgets, forecasts, performance analyses, distributions and allocations
• Support and coordinate annual audits, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with external auditors

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience in fund accounting, preferably with exposure to digital assets and venture capital or private equity funds
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Passionate about (or at least have strong interest in) crypto and venture capital
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, fund accounting lifecycle, and financial reporting standards (U.S. GAAP)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non‑financial stakeholders
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks
• Ability to multitask and manage/prioritize own workload to meet deadlines
• Systems savvy / technology enthusiast – ability to understand flow of financial information through systems and to apply technology to improve processes
