Job summary

Sherpa is seeking a Senior Accountant in Charlotte, NC to support day-to-day accounting activities, month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance while working with the Controller and CFO.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems. This on-site role offers growth in a collaborative accounting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support a timely and accurate month-end close.
• Manage fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
• Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Partner with Accounts Payable on coding and approvals.
• Oversee accounts receivable and credit card transactions.
• Support compliance reporting, including property taxes, licenses, and unclaimed property.
• Assist with financial reporting and budgeting.
• Provide documentation for interim and year-end audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

They are looking for a Senior Accountant with the skills to support day-to-day accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, compliance, and audit activities while working closely with the Controller and CFO.
