Job summary

Mobility Global in Reston, VA, is seeking a Senior GL Accountant, Record to Report – GL Accounting to own general ledger areas, ensure timely month-end close and GAAP compliance in a SOX-controlled environment. The role supports audits and internal control improvements within a fast-paced public-company setting.

The position requires CPA or strong background, 4–6+ years of accounting experience, and solid Excel/ERP skills (Oracle a plus).

What You'll Do

The Senior GL Accountant, Record to Report – GL Accounting will own key general ledger areas within the U.S. R2R function, including operating expense accounting, balance sheet control and reconciliations, and other complex journal entries. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate monthly close, balance sheet integrity, and GAAP-compliant accounting in a SOX-controlled public-company environment. The role will also support ad hoc corporate initiatives and may expand into additional accounting areas over time.

Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid)

What We're Looking For

Accounting Operations and Close Support Own and manage daily accounting activities including general ledger entry, record keeping, and account reconciliations. Areas of accounting oversight may include, but are not limited to: Cash transaction accounting Debt & derivatives Accounting for operating expenses, including accruals and allocations Equity accounting and stock-based compensation Software capitalization Intercompany accounting Incentive compensation Manage month-end closing activities; prepare activities and reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports. Maintain accurate fixed assets, prepaids, accruals and other account balances. Maintain documentation for accounting and internal / external audits. Support external audit processes and coordinate with auditors. Perform variance analysis and support executive reporting. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close deliverables. Collaborate with other departments on financial matters. Assist in special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.

Compliance & Controls Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, tax regulations, and corporate accounting policies. Support regulatory reporting requirements. Maintain internal controls and identify process improvements. Maintain audit-ready documentation. Support internal and external audit requests.

Qualifications CPA required or strongly preferred. 4-6+ years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting background preferred. Experience in publicly traded or large multinational company preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Highly organized and detail-oriented Strong Excel and ERP experience. Oracle experience is a plus.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on a variety of factors, including geographic location, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
