Job summary

Selby Jennings partners with a respected investment management firm to recruit a Senior Accountant who will work closely with the Controller and own core accounting processes, financial reporting, and compliance.

You will prepare annual and quarterly statements, monthly journal entries, and year-end accruals, manage client billings, monitor receivables and payables, maintain the general ledger, and support audits and tax inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• CPA or progress toward CPA designation preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial reports and quarterly internal financial statements.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, year-end accruals, and closing entries.
• Complete client billings and monitor accounts receivable activity.
• Review accounts payable entries and prepare payments.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all accounts.
• Review monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare internal ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as needed.
• Document and update accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare tax and compliance filings.
• Support annual audit requests and tax-related inquiries.
• Assist with accounting research and special projects as needed.
