Job summary

Taurus Search is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing finance team. You will support day-to-day accounting and the month-end close while gaining exposure to financial reporting, internal controls, and cross-functional projects.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of accounting experience, a strong foundation in GAAP, Excel proficiency, and a proactive mindset to learn as the business grows. CPA eligibility is a plus, with opportunities to collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting or financial services exposure is a plus.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• CPA eligibility or progress toward designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Review general ledger activity and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and expense accounting.
• Support accounts payable and other accounting activities as needed.
• Prepare documentation for external audits and tax requests.
• Partner with colleagues to resolve accounting questions and improve processes.
• Maintain organized records and follow established internal controls.
