Job summary

CIRCOR International, Inc in Warren, MA seeks an Defense Account Manager to develop and manage sales with direct naval defense customers. You will promote pumps, valves, electric motors and actuators, and build long-term relationships with key accounts.

You will coordinate proposals from RFQs, work with operations, quality, supply chain and engineering, and support billing and payments. A US citizen with ability to obtain government clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of related sales or defense account management experience.
  • Knowledge of naval defense or maritime fluid systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer representatives at shipyards, OEMs, and other businesses.
  • Review RFQs, specifications, drawings, plans to prepare proposals and quotations.
  • Coordinate project management for major contracts including flow-down requirements and submittals.
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues such as deliveries.
  • Provide timely customer reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, supply chain and engineering to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate and process milestone payments.
  • Organize and manage customer program reviews.
  • Represent the company at industry meetings and trade shows.
  • Assist finance with rates, compliance and in resolving collection issues.

POSITION DETAILS
The Defense Account Manager develops and manages sales activities with prospective and existing direct customer accounts within the naval defense market. Responsible for sale of pumps, valves and associated equipment including electric motors and actuators. Develops long-term relationships with key customer accounts. Acts as "voice of the customer" to the organization.

Principal Activities
  • Primary Point of Contact for customer representatives such as buyers, engineers, and other professional and technical personnel at shipyards, OEM's, and other businesses, to influence prospective clients of the value and performance of products or services offered.
  • Reviews RFQ's, specifications, drawings, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare proposals and quotations.
  • Coordinates project management functions for major contracts including contract review and dissemination of flow down requirements, tracking of progress and document submittals.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems such as deliveries.
  • Provide customer reporting as needed in a timely and organized manner.
  • Work closely with other departments including; operations, quality, supply chain and engineering to assist in resolving issues affecting customers
  • Coordinate and process milestone payments.
  • Organize and manage customer program reviews
  • Represent company at industry meetings and trade shows.
  • Assist finance with rates, compliance and in resolving collection issues.
Candidate Requirements

  • Must have strong writing, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both with internal and external customers
  • Must be a team player and have effective communication, interpersonal,l and team building skills, and be able to manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment
  • Must be very organized and able to work under pressure situations.
  • Due to the nature of our defense products, must be a US Citizen and be capable of obtaining a government clearance.
Education & Experience
  • Typically requires a minimum level of knowledge that is acquired through a four-year college degree, preferably in Engineering, and Five years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Naval defense or maritime industry experience with Knowledge of shipboard fluid systems, pumps and valves preferred.
