Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $115,575.00 - $136,850.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

If you’d like an opportunity where you’d sell our Commercial Card services to help our clients grow their businesses, this might be the job for you. As a Senior Commercial Card Account Executive you’ll be selling Card Payment Services to “C” level associates at targeted enterprise level businesses, hospitals, educational and government entities. These targeted companies may, or may not, have an established relationship with Commerce Bank. You’ll do everything from prospecting to negotiating the deal, as well as employ problem solving, relationship management and negotiation skills, while leveraging effective closing techniques to meet or exceed assigned sales goals.

Essential Functions

1. Conduct sales calls using consultative business process reviews and move prospective client through the sales cycle from the first appointment to contract signing.
2. Set appointments with prospects through the telephone, email, and marketing campaigns.
3. Identify prospect goals and objectives for process improvement then recommend solutions to help meet these goals and objectives.
4. Provide value-added services including technical support, Product Development and Relationship Management.
5. Negotiate contract terms and pricing that will be appealing to the customer and deliver an acceptable return to Commerce.
6. Prepare customized request for information, request for proposal, file spend analysis, proposals and sales presentations.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

1. Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements.
2. Strong understanding of business concepts including account payable, purchasing and accounting systems.
3. Strong knowledge of consultative sales process.
4. Strong data analysis skills.
5. Skilled at interacting with senior managers and able to develop a business case.
6. Able to work independently but with some oversight from direct supervisor.
7. Capable of managing relationships independently and in negotiating sales and contracts.
8. Superior presentation skills.
9. Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
10. Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
11. Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values.
12. Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
2. 7+ years new customer acquisition sales experience required, preferably within the banking/financial services field.
3. Proven track record within the team selling and lead sharing environment required.

The disclosed range estimate has been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $115,575 to $136,850 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
