The Senior Account Executive is a primary day-to-day steward of the client relationship, working in close partnership with senior account leaders to ensure creative, media, and production work is delivered accurately, on strategy, and on time.
Job Duties
- Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact, managing the relationship in close partnership with Account Supervisors and Account Directors.
- Lead the coordination of internal and external client meetings, including agenda-setting, follow-up, and action item tracking.
- Own job flow management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across job jackets, status reports, and trafficking.
- Manage and help refine agency processes, such as job jackets, status reports, estimates, and PO’s, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
- Guide creative work through internal review and refinement before client presentation.
- Set up creative presentations and work to clients with increasing autonomy.
- Serve as a key point of contact ensuring communication flow between agency and client remains clear, proactive, and on schedule.
- Coordinate and manage resources across the media, creative, design, and production departments, resolving cross-functional roadblocks.
- Own budget management, cost tracking, and invoicing for assigned accounts, flagging risks and opportunities to senior account leadership.
- Represent the agency in client calls, meetings, and productions, often with limited day-to-day oversight.
- Exercise sound judgment and resourcefulness in resolving ambiguous or complex situations, escalating appropriately.
- Mentor, train, and provide day-to-day guidance to Account Executives and Assistant Account Executives.
Experience & Qualifications
- 5–7 years of account management experience, preferably within an advertising, marketing, or creative agency environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Strong working knowledge of agency processes, budget management, and client financials.
- Experience mentoring, training, or guiding junior account staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to clients and internal teams.
- Sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and comfort operating with ambiguity.
Physical requirements
- Able to work in an office environment with standard foot traffic and on occasion noise level from music.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Direct reports
May provide day-to-day mentorship and guidance to Account Executives and/or Assistant Account Executives, without formal supervisory authority.
