Job summary

The role collaborates with Academic departments, Admissions, Student Life, IT, and Academic Affairs to support students in realizing their academic potential.

We require knowledge of accessibility laws, strong leadership, and experience coordinating interpreters and CART captioners; after six months

Qualifications

• Understanding of ADA and Rehabilitation Act requirements and student accessibility.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Experience working with diverse campus communities and partners.
• Strong collaboration with administration, faculty and students.
• Knowledge of accessibility laws and regulations.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of student development concepts and policies.
• Experience assessing program effectiveness and guiding improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff interpreters and manage budget with monthly reporting.
• Coordinate scheduling of CART and Sign Language Interpreters.
• Evaluate and hire interpreters and transcribers as needed.
• Monitor expenses and develop regular reports for leadership.
• Collaborate with Accessibility Services colleagues on services.
• Assess student needs and adjust services for accommodations.
• Provide awareness training on Deaf culture and communication access.
• Maintain relationships with national organizations and post-secondary peers.
