Job summary

Dallas College is seeking a Senior Manager, Accessibility to lead ADA and Section 504 compliance efforts and coordinate interpretation services for students with disabilities. This on-site role collaborates with multiple campus offices to support accessible learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. Official transcripts required.
• BEI certification preferred.
• Four years of related experience.
• Knowledge of sign language used by consumers.
• Knowledge of the unique needs of students in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop goals and objectives for staff interpreters and monitor budget.
• Coordinate scheduling and assignment of CART and Sign Language Interpreters.
• Evaluate prospective Sign Language Interpreters and CART Captioners.
• Assist with hiring and contracting qualified interpreters and transcribers.
• Schedule and assign Sign Language Interpreters and CART Captioners for requested accommodations.
• Foster an inclusive team environment and high-quality client services.
• Review invoices from independent contractors.
• Monitor service expenses within budget.
• Prepare regular reports for the Director of Accessibility.
• Collaborate with practitioners in Accessibility Services on services.
• Assess student needs and adjust services as needed.
• Work with students and faculty to solve classroom issues with interpreters/captioners.
• Provide awareness training and coaching on Deaf culture and communication access.
