Job summary

UVA Health's Emily Couric Cancer Center is seeking an Access Associate Senior to ensure timely, coordinated access to oncology care. You will be a visible, trusted representative for patients and families, shaping their experience at every visit in a fast-paced academic medical setting.

The role offers a starting base rate of $19.50/hr with a possible $3,500 sign-on bonus and a compensation plan tied to experience.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
• 2 years relevant experience required.
• Licensure: None required.
• Access Associate fully cross-trained to cover multiple specialties may be considered in lieu of the 2 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients, families, and providers with clear, compassionate communication.
• Manage complex patient scheduling to ensure timely appointments.
• Serve as primary contact for patients requesting preferred physicians.
• Collect and verify demographics and insurance information; support cash collections.
• Resolve access-related issues, including record retrieval and authorization challenges.
• Participate in issue resolution and process improvement to enhance workflows.
• Support and mentor other Access Associates in oncology care.
