Job summary

UCLA Life Sciences Division seeks a Senior Academic Payroll Analyst to manage payroll actions for faculty and academics across seven departments and nine centers. You will use UCPath, QDB, OPUS, and Tracker I-9, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with academic policies.

Strong analytical and independent work skills are essential. The role reports to the EDRA & AFS and involves cross-unit coordination, data reporting, and acting as the departmental expert on payroll processes.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years in an admin department with academic payroll responsibilities.
• Advanced knowledge of UCLA Academic Personnel and Payroll policies and structure.
• Experience with online payroll systems and forms.
• Working knowledge of UC policies and UCLA CALL/APM.
• Proficiency with UCPath, QDB, OPUS, and related tools.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proactive problem solving and independent work capability.
• Strong confidentiality and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate payroll and personnel actions for faculty and academics.
• Maintain electronic personnel records and sabbatical accruals.
• Handle leaves of absence and special compensation actions.
• Submit funding entries and direct retros; resolve payroll issues.
• Serve as liaison to UCPath and Tracker I-9 administration.
• Advise department chairs and analysts on policy implementation.
