Job summary

The Allen School at the University of Washington is seeking an Academic Counselor- Senior to provide comprehensive advising to undergraduate students, including transfer and Direct to Major pathways. You will manage a large caseload, coordinate orientation programs, and collaborate with faculty to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field; 3+ years of student counseling or related experience.
• Minimum qualifications require advising and student services experience.
• Preferred: Master’s degree and experience in university advising programs.

Responsibilities

• Advising current Allen School students on schedule planning and degree requirements; manage a caseload of ~275 undergrads.
• Coordinate transfer student programming, advising & orientation, and course planning for new majors.
• Lead and supervise teaching assistants for the transfer seminar course (CSE 390T) as instructor of record.
• Maintain transfer admissions records and participate in transfer yield programs.
• Monitor emails and advising hours; support both in-person and virtual student interactions.
