About this Opportunity

The Undergraduate Advising Team is home to ten dedicated professional staff members who work collaboratively to provide holistic support to undergraduate students in the Allen School. The Allen School is competitive, with over 800 current UW student applicants last year and over 500 transfer students. The Academic Adviser- Senior will meet with current and prospective students facing academic and personal challenges. Their advising caseload primarily consists of transfer students, but they also advise students admitted to the Allen School through the Direct to Major (DTM) and current UW student admissions pathways as well.
  • Assist students with special requests and situations: write letters to confirm enrollment or graduation; approve UW satisfactory progress petitions; update student records; approve degree requirement exceptions.
  • Complete a quarterly Review of Progress for students on assigned caseload, initiate proactive advising outreach, and provide early intervention as deemed by the Continuation Policy or as necessary when working with students of concern or those on academic watch.
  • Work with faculty regarding course enrollment, management of struggling students, and other special requests and situations.
