Job summary

College of Southern Nevada is seeking a Senior Academic Advisor for Veteran Education and Transition Services in Las Vegas. The role focuses on advising first-time and returning students, guiding them through planned coursework and campus resources to support degree completion.

The incumbent will also serve as a VA School Certifying Official, assist with VA benefits processing, and partner with faculty and staff to promote student success and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Liberal Arts, Social Science, or related field; or equivalent.
• 2–3 years advising experience.
• Advising in a community college setting.
• Working with special populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide advisement and orientation services to first-time and returning students.
• Assist students in planning coursework for all semesters and review credits transferred.
• Serve as VA School Certifying Official and manage Department of Veterans Affairs benefits.
• Work independently with limited supervision to support student retention and success.
