Job summary

Vergys LLC seeks a Senior Cost Modeler/ABC SME to lead ABC models in CostPerform for a high-profile federal contract. The role emphasizes model architecture, data validation from federal systems, and crosswalk development. Most work is remote with occasional on-site training.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in federal cost accounting, strong CostPerform skills, and the ability to train others. U.S. citizenship and DOI clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
• 5–10 years of experience in federal cost accounting, budgeting, ABC, and financial modeling.
• Proficiency building, updating, and troubleshooting CostPerform models.
• Experience extracting, reconciling, and validating data from federal systems (e.g., FBMS, NFC, PRISM).
• Designing cost structures, activity dictionaries, and crosswalk tables.
• Experience designing technical courseware and delivering federal training.
• Microsoft Office Suite expert; SQL or relational databases familiarity.
• Strong executive briefing skills to translate complex cost allocations for leadership.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOI Public Trust clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• CostPerform model configuration and architecture: build, configure, and maintain ABC models with well-defined cost pools and drivers.
• System integration and data cleansing: validate reports from federal systems using PowerQuery or SQL to uncover unmapped costs.
• Architecture audits and diagnostic reporting: audit legacy taxonomies, analyze multi-year labor trends, evaluate charging ratios, publish analyses.
• Taxonomy modernization and crosswalk design: create activity code lists and crosswalk tables in Excel/SQL; collaborate with federal leads.
• Model unification and dry-run testing: consolidate separate agency models into a unified CostPerform engine.
• Curriculum design and training: develop instructor guides, manuals, cheat sheets; conduct hybrid and virtual trainings.
• Embedded support and help-desk monitoring: provide daily advisory on CostPerform/Tableau; track tickets and trends.
