Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead ABB robotics and PLC integration in Waukesha County. This onsite role includes up to 30% travel for client site commissioning, SAT, and deployment, with a strong emphasis on RAPID programming and RobotStudio simulations.

You will drive full-lifecycle machine builds, configure hardware and protocols, and generate comprehensive documentation.

Qualifications

• ABB Robotics: 5+ years programming ABB robots, 2+ years RAPID/RobotStudio.
• PLC development: 2+ years with ladder logic (AB Rockwell Studio 5000).
• Safety & motion control: know-how on motion systems and safety networks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and reside within commutable distance of Waukesha.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Write, optimize, and simulate RAPID code and RobotStudio models.
• Drive full lifecycle of custom machinery projects from design to debugging.
• Configure hardware and fieldbus protocols for ABB packages and EOAT.
• Troubleshoot integration issues on build floors and in the field.
• Lead onsite deployments, SATs, and customer sign-offs.
• Create system logic docs, operation sequences, and electrical redlines.
