Job summary

U-Haul is seeking an experienced ABAP developer for a fully onsite role in Tempe/Phoenix, AZ. You will design, develop, and modernize ABAP applications and lead integrations with external systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The position emphasizes ownership of components, performance tuning, and documentation, with mentorship to junior developers and continual process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Five years of experience involving ABAP Core Technologies and SAP ABAP development.
• Experience building web applications using SOA and JavaScript frameworks.
• Proficiency in debugging, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across complex systems.
• Experience with version control and lifecycle management of software deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and modernize ABAP applications aligned with business needs and ownership of components.
• Build scalable, high-performance solutions for integrated software applications and systems.
• Execute development projects ensuring alignment with standards and modernization efforts.
• Develop integrations with external systems and custom middleware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and design integration solutions.
