Job summary

U-Haul International, Inc is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, and modernize ABAP applications and integrated systems in Phoenix, AZ. You will own ABAP components, build scalable solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required five years of experience with ABAP, SAP ABAP, SOA, JavaScript, and lifecycle management. Onsite role with strong debugging, documentation, and mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Five years of experience with ABAP Core Technologies, SAP ABAP applications, and related development.
• Experience developing web applications using SOA and JavaScript/jQuery.
• Experience in application lifecycle management from design to maintenance.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with version control and delivering code changes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and modernize ABAP applications with ownership of components and areas.
• Build scalable, high-performance solutions for integrated software applications and systems.
• Execute development projects ensuring alignment with goals and standards, modernizing systems for performance and maintainability.
• Develop integrations with external systems and custom middleware solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and design integration solutions.
• Customize and adapt existing applications to evolving business needs.
• Troubleshoot complex issues to ensure stability and seamless user experiences.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for all development work.
• Engage with stakeholders for progress updates and alignment with objectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes and team workflows.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior developers and support knowledge transfer.
• Ensure clear documentation for ongoing maintenance and conduct regular code reviews.
