Job summary

Fathom is seeking a Sr. Technical A&D Program Manager in Hartland, WI to lead pre-sale activities, discovery, and solution development for Aerospace & Defense opportunities.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Quality to ensure customer requirements are understood and feasible manufacturing plans are defined. The role emphasizes technical leadership, risk evaluation, and a structured handoff to execution post-award, with ongoing support for complex quality issues and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in Aerospace & Defense manufacturing or technical program management.
• Experience with pre-sale technical discovery and solution development.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, assemblies, and aerospace materials.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for complex Aerospace & Defense opportunities across multiple part families.
• Lead technical discovery with customer engineers, procurement, quality, and program management stakeholders.
• Collaborate with customers and engineering to develop and value-sell manufacturing solutions.
• Determine bid/no-bid decisions, evaluate capability fit, risks, and constraints.
• Review customer drawings, GD&T, specs, and quality clauses; resolve ambiguities before commitments.
• Establish and maintain a flow-down requirements process across programs and suppliers.
• Define manufacturing approach with teams on process, tooling, and scalability.
• Lead design-for-manufacturability discussions and explain trade-offs to customers.
• Coordinate with Sales, Estimating, Finance to prepare technical inputs for proposals.
