Job summary

Prince William County Government is seeking a skilled 9-1-1 Systems Administrator to support the Call Handling Equipment, voice network, and telephony systems used in the 9-1-1 Center. You will join a team maintaining mission-critical public safety technology and supporting a modernizing CHE environment.

The role requires experience in telephony/VoIP, networking, and information technology, with strong analytical and planning abilities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in telephony, VOIP, call processing, or voice logging administration.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology, computer science, telecommunications, network engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer 9-1-1 call handling equipment, voice network, and telephony systems.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, and carriers supporting these systems.
• Prepare and support reporting (state 9-1-1, grants, performance).
• Ensure high-availability call delivery and efficient emergency response.
