Job summary

Prince William County Department of Public Safety Communications is seeking a 9-1-1 Systems Administrator to support CHE, voice networks and telephony within the PSAP. The role includes day-to-day administration, troubleshooting, and planning for call handling equipment and related systems.

The successful candidate will coordinate with vendors and carriers, produce required reporting, and contribute to high-availability call delivery for emergency response.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 7+ years in telephony, VOIP, call processing, or voice-logging system administration.
• Experience in public safety technology and 9-1-1 call handling platforms is preferred.
• ENP or PMP certifications are a plus; ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Administer day-to-day 9-1-1 call handling equipment, voice networks and telephony systems.
• Manage voice logging environment and databases related to call routing and processing.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors and carriers; support reporting (state 9-1-1, grants, performance).
• Provide planning recommendations and status updates to leadership; ensure high-availability call delivery.
• Work with IT, public safety specialists and vendors to support mission-critical environments.
