Job summary

emnify is building a cloud-native 5G Standalone core and you will own the core network functions and roaming scenarios, shaping the architecture and shepherding high-scale deployments across AWS and Kubernetes. This hands-on Staff engineer role expects deep expertise and a willingness to lead across squads.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup at our Berlin office, collaborating with the Engineering department to design, implement, test, and operate telecom software that runs in production at scale

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on expertise with the 5G Standalone core and roaming protocols.
• Experience with cloud-native networking, service mesh, and observability.
• Hands-on software engineering across the stack.
• Proficient in C++, Go, or Java.
• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes at scale.
• Proven track record running telecom services in production.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and build AI-agentic workflow components for the 5G Standalone core in C++, Go, or Java.
• Own 5G roaming scenarios end-to-end, handling signaling and interworking.
• Deploy and operate the 5G core at scale on AWS and Kubernetes for high availability.
• Set technical direction and raise engineering standards across teams.
• Troubleshoot complex live telecom issues across the stack.
