Job summary

E-Space is seeking a 5G Core System Engineering Lead to own end-to-end system design and interfaces for its satellite 5G Core network. The role requires decomposing requirements, defining interfaces across all core domains, and driving trade-offs across software, platform, and back-end engineering teams.

You will ensure cross-team alignment with 3GPP Rel-17/18 specs, lead architecture decisions, and define performance criteria for session setup, registration, charging accuracy, and failover

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 12+ years in system or network engineering with 5G Core experience.
• Experience authoring interface specifications and trade studies.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end 5G Core architecture across the full service chain (AMF, SMF, UPF, UDM, PCF, AUSF, CHF, NEF).
• Define and own interface specifications at core domain boundaries.
• Drive system-level trade-off analyses for latency, reliability, and policy/charging architecture.
• Lead call-flow design for key 5G Core procedures in satellite context.
• Define requirements for back-end platform integration (CDR, CHF, UDM, BSS/OSS).
• Evaluate build-vs-buy options for core network functions and platforms.
