Job summary

Prodapt is seeking a highly skilled 5G Protocol & Certification Engineer to focus on signaling and verification of cutting-edge mobile devices in a Fremont/Sunnyvale, CA onsite role. You will develop and execute protocol test plans, perform deep-dive modem log analysis, and collaborate with OEM and network teams to drive certification closure on complex 5G features.

This role requires extensive 5G/LTE experience, strong 3GPP knowledge, and hands-on use of QXDM/QCAT/Wireshark for verification,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years in 5G/LTE/Modem development or validation; 8+ with Master.
5+ years in 5G Protocol Verification or related Modem/Signaling verification.
Strong knowledge of 3GPP Rel 15/16 and IMS signaling.
Experience with protocol tools: QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, ADB.
Scripting: Python for automation and data analysis.
Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute protocol verification plans for 5G/LTE designs including E911, RTT, and LPPe/PIDF-LO.
Design, develop, and maintain test environments using Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, or Spirent simulators to verify 5G functionality.
Create test scenarios and test cases to achieve Carrier Certification (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) and 3GPP standards compliance.
Analyze modem logs and regression results, debug signaling issues using QXDM, QCAT, and Wireshark; drive bug resolution.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to align verification with project milestones.
Maintain accurate documentation for verification plans, test cases, and results to support traceability and device approval.
