Job summary

BrightMeds is launching a 503A pharmacy in the Greater St. Louis area and seeks an experienced sterile compounding pharmacist to help build the operation, quality systems, and workflows.

This on-site role requires hands-on expertise in sterile compounding, regulatory compliance, and team development. You will work with founders, consultants, and a technology team to establish SOPs, quality standards, staffing plans, and scalable processes for future locations.

Qualifications

• PharmD, BSPharm, or equivalent degree from an accredited school.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in at least one U.S. state.
• Missouri pharmacist license or ability to obtain one before starting on-site work.
• Direct experience working in a 503A sterile compounding pharmacy.
• Strong working knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> requirements.
• Experience with aseptic technique, sterile workflows, documentation, and quality-control procedures.
• Experience following or improving sterile SOPs and quality systems.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, communication, and professional judgment.
• Willingness to work on-site in the Greater St. Louis or St. Charles County area.

Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee sterile compounding operations under USP <797> and USP <800> requirements.
• Develop, review, and improve SOPs, batch records, training materials, and quality documentation.
• Support training, qualification, observation, and competency programs.
• Oversee aseptic technique, environmental monitoring, cleaning, disinfecting, and contamination control.
• Participate in deviation investigations, CAPAs, change control, recalls, and continuous quality improvement.
• Maintain inspection and audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with the PIC, consultants, legal, and leadership on licensing and expansion.
