Job summary

Calqulate is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for multi-axis production work in Michigan. You will program and operate 5-axis CNC machines, primarily with Mastercam, ensuring precision per GD&T and using Heidenhain or Fidia controllers when available.

The role requires strong math skills, knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100, 5S practices, and a proven track record across varied 5-axis applications. On-site shop environment with strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Mastercam experience.
• Minimum 5 years of machining experience across multiple 5-Axis machining applications (Zimmermann, Apec, FPT, Mecof).
• Experience with Heidenhain and Fidia controls (preferred).
• General knowledge of QMS (ISO9001/AS9100).
• General knowledge of 5S practices.
• General knowledge of basic fixturing.

Responsibilities

• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and GD&T to determine parameters.
• Program 5-Axis CNC machines with Mastercam.
• Set up tools, offsets, and compensation; calculate tooling requirements and verify parts.
• Measure head clearance, travel, and positions to verify setups.
• Maintain quality by following QA procedures and taking measurements; troubleshoot and adjust controls.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Document actions and communicate irregularities across shifts and teams.
• Interface with Engineering, Programming, Materials, and Quality as needed.
