Job summary

Acme Industries in Elk Grove Village, IL seeks a Senior CAM Programmer to lead multi-axis CNC programming for aerospace components. You will own strategies for large castings and forgings, collaborating with machinists and engineers to translate concepts into first-article approvals.

You will drive CAM-based approaches, validate on the floor, and mentor a CNC Programmer I to grow their multi-axis skills while improving cycle time and tooling strategies in a fast-paced, ITAR-regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years programming CNCs with 4- and 5-axis milling/turning.
• Proficiency in CAM platforms: TopSolid, SmartCAM, Mastercam, Esprit, or NX.
• Deep grasp of feeds/speeds, tooling, workholding, surface finish, tolerance control.
• Hands-on FANUC control experience with on-machine prove-out.

Responsibilities

• Create, refine, and validate CNC programs for multi-axis milling/turning and horizontal boring mill operations.
• Design end-to-end machining plans: sequences, cutting data, tooling, fixtures for complex castings and forgings.
• Prove out programs on the floor and apply control-level edits for first-article approvals.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to improve cycle time, tool life, and quality.
