Job summary

Liberty Robotics is seeking a Software Engineer III to bridge high-level math research and production software. You will own end-to-end vision pipelines and deploy them on real hardware while collaborating with researchers and engineers.

You will evaluate architectures, implement robust algorithms, and ensure real-time determinism in manufacturing environments with occasional customer site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/Robotics or related field.
• Strong foundations in linear algebra and geometry.
• Hands-on 3D perception and 2D vision experience.
• Proficient in production-grade C++ and/or Python.
• Willingness to travel for field validation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate 2D/3D vision pipelines.
• Port and deploy production-quality code interfacing with depth sensors.
• Balance classical image processing with deep learning to reduce latency.
• Lead code reviews and manage multi-codebase integrations.
• Troubleshoot vision pipelines on hardware and prototype setups.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics, or a related technical field

MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics, or related field

Linear algebra, geometry, coordinate systems & rigid-body transformations

3D perception & image processing stacks

2D image processing & feature extraction

Software development in C++ and/or Python

Analytical reasoning & problem-solving

Field deployments & travel to customer/OEM sites

5–10 years of focused technical expertise in 3D perception and image processing
