Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to design, build, and integrate software for autonomous robots across the full stack, from sensor integration to high-level perception and planning. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Five or more years of robotics software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS 2 in production projects.
• Solid experience with at least one of perception, localization, motion planning, or control.
• Familiarity with sensor fusion and Kalman/particle filter techniques.
• Experience with simulation environments (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo).
• Strong debugging skills in real-time and concurrent systems.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience supporting field tests and hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop robotics software in C++ and Python with emphasis on real-time performance.
• Design and integrate sensor data pipelines (cameras, LiDAR, IMUs).
• Implement perception, localization, mapping, including SLAM and sensor fusion.
• Develop motion planning, control, and trajectory generation.
• Build behavioral systems using state machines, behavior trees, or task planners.
• Integrate ROS/ROS 2 with hardware and embedded systems.
• Implement safety-critical patterns including watchdogs and safe stops.
• Build simulation environments (Gazebo, Isaac Sim).
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and ML engineers to meet requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers through code/design reviews and pairing.
• Evaluate emerging robotics technologies and provide grounded recommendations.
