Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior 3D Substation Physical Designer to work in a hybrid role, with in-office days in Peachtree Corners, GA, and collaboration with engineers on high/extra high voltage substations.

You will produce 3D models and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Vault Pro and SDS, while interpreting vendor data and performing client walkdowns to ensure design accuracy and compliance with IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in 3D substation modeling and physical design.
• Proficient with 3D design using AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Vault Pro and SDS.
• Ability to visualize in 3D and layout substation equipment per IEEE standards.
• Able to follow a CAD standard.

Responsibilities

• Produce a 3D model and related drawings (GA, sections, BOM, cable schedules, etc.) using Inventor, AutoCAD, P4A, SDS.
• Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
• Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities.
• Collaborate in a project team with engineers on HV substations.
