Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior 3D Substation Physical Designer to join our team in delivering comprehensive 3D models and drawings for high- and extra-high voltage substations. You will produce complex 3D models and associated deliverables using Inventor, AutoCAD, P4A, and SDS, while integrating vendor data and ensuring adherence to client and IEEE standards.

You will also participate in site walkdowns and collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate layouts and documentation in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting, or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, or a high school diploma with 5+ years of 3D drafting work/experience.
• Minimum of 10 years preparing 3D substation models and physical design experience.
• Proficient with 3D CAD; AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Vault Pro and SDS.
• Ability to visualize in 3D and layout substation equipment per client and IEEE standards.
• Follow CAD standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce a 3D substation model and generate GA drawings, equipment plans, sections, details, foundation and grounding plans, conduit/trench plans, control building layout/details, BOM, cable schedules, and shielding plans using Inventor, AutoCAD, P4A, SDS.
• Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
• Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities.
