Job summary

We Do Social Work Recruitment is partnering with a client in Wichita to appoint an experienced SEND Officer to oversee EHC Plan amendments, manage annual reviews, and ensure timely, legally compliant casework across a cluster of schools.

The role emphasises attention to detail, robust knowledge of SEND Code of Practice 2015 and the Children and Families Act 2014, and the ability to work with families, schools and professionals within statutory deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in statutory SEND work and EHC plan amendments.
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Children and Families Act 2014.
• Ability to review professional reports and incorporate information into EHC Plans.
• Excellent time-management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of annual reviews and SEND casework for a cluster of schools.
• Review annual review paperwork to determine amendments to EHC Plans.
• Produce high-quality, legally compliant EHC Plan amendments.
• Identify missing information or advice to support amendments.
• Ensure EHC Plans remain accurate and compliant within statutory timescales.
• Prepare cases for panel consideration when required.
• Communicate with families, schools and professionals throughout the process.
• Ensure drafts are finalised within statutory deadlines, including eight weeks when applicable.
• Maintain accurate case records and high-standard casework.
• Collaborate with Senior SEND Officers to oversee cases.
