Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a patient, caring SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role at a Brentwood school. You will provide 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes, helping pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.

You will support communication, emotional regulation and learning engagement, follow EHCP targets, and assist with personal care where required. A supportive team and ongoing consultant backing the role.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach, able to work across primary and secondary ages.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
  • Support communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Follow EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Help maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.

Are you a patient, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to start a new role as soon as possible where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are working with a well-resourced and highly supportive SEN school in Brentwood that caters for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. They are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision as soon as possible.

The Role
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
  • Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups
  • Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils
  • Willing to support personal care where needed
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and strong mainstream TAs looking to move into a specialist setting are encouraged to apply.
