Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is recruiting for a College Teaching Assistant in Lambeth. You will support Key Stage 3 pupils with SEND in a mainstream secondary setting, delivering 1:1 or group help and promoting inclusive learning.

The role requires Maths and English GCSE at A*-C/9-4 or equivalent, with experience of working with young people and ability to communicate with parents and staff. DBS and references will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND needs.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent.
• Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public.

Responsibilities

• Work in a mainstream secondary school with many SEND pupils.
• Deliver classroom support for Key Stage 3, 1:1 or small groups.
• Support independent learning and inclusive practices for all students.
• Assist with monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress.
• Manage classroom stock and supplies.
• Supervise students between lessons and during transitions.

Job description

Are you flexible, patient, caring and confident with children and young people? This is a small SEN college that caters for young adults with PMLD, Complex needs, ASD and Speech and Language difficulties.

• 35 hours per week, Term Time only
• 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday
• Up to £130 per day for candidates with extensive experience or qualifications such as Teaching Assistant at NVQ Level 2 or above

• Supervise students between lessons and when entering and leaving the school
