Job summary

Polar Semiconductor, LLC is seeking an engineer to sustain and improve die yield in semiconductor manufacturing. You will optimize equipment and processes, monitor parameters, and drive data‑driven decisions to enhance reliability and reduce defects.

The role requires a strong background in CMOS/DMOS/Bipolar devices, collaboration across functions, and effective communication with customers. Bloomington, MN location preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related field is required.
  • 3–5 years of directly related experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CMOS, DMOS, Bipolar and discrete devices.
  • Proven problem solving, organization and analytical skills.
  • Experience with yield analysis and data‑driven decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration.
  • Ability to work across multiple functions with customers.

Job description

Position Overview

This position will sustain and improve product die yield for semiconductor manufacturing processes by ensuring equipment and processes are optimized, monitored, controlled, and reliable.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sustain current processes to achieve die yield goals.
  • Monitor current processes to ensure process complies with necessary parameters and provides a baseline for any necessary process enhancements.
  • Drive manufacturing to improve yields by improving electrical distributions and levels of defectivity.
  • Coordinate work with customers and internal manufacturing to improve die yield and reliability.
  • Manage new product introduction and production support engineering for a specific product or group of products after transfer from design to production.
  • Interface with design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems.
  • Develop and sustain process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields.
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or other closely related field required.
  • 3–5 years’ directly related experience preferred but will consider a strong recent college graduate.
  • Significant knowledge of CMOS, DMOS, Bipolar, and Discrete semiconductor devices.
  • Skills in problem solving, organization, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with yield analysis and data‑driven decision making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
  • Experience interacting with customers or supporting customer technical discussions is a plus.
  • Position may require U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency status in the future depending on federal requirements.
What We Offer

Salary: The estimated base salary range for the position is $90,000–$127,000. The pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, job‑related experience, skills and level of the position.

Benefits & Other Eligible Compensation: Includes health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, annual bonus, and tuition reimbursement.
