Job summary

MACOM, a global semiconductor manufacturer, seeks an Engineering Specialist in Lowell, MA to gain hands-on exposure to wafer fabrication processes and process improvement. You will support fabrication steps such as lithography, etch, diffusion, and metrology on a 12-hour compressed shift schedule.

Ideal candidates have a engineering or physics background with up to 3 years of related experience, strong analytical skills, and good communication. Cleanroom work and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Material Science, or Physics required or preferred.
• 0–3 years of process development and manufacturing experience in thin film processing.
• Strong analytical capacity and diagnostic ability.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, or JMP for tracking manufacturing yields.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of functions in the production of semiconductor devices in a cleanroom environment.
• Set-up, operate, load, and monitor specialized equipment to ensure quality product is produced.
• May monitor equipment operation, inspect final product, clean the work area, and perform data entry.
• Work on 12-hour compressed work week night shifts (5pm–5am) or day shifts (5am–5pm).
