Job summary

MACOM is hiring an Engineering Specialist in Lowell, MA. This entry-point role offers hands-on exposure to semiconductor fabrication, working on the production floor under a 12-hour compressed work week.

You will support various process steps and collaborate with engineering teams to improve safety, quality, and output. The ideal candidate has a foundational background in engineering or physical sciences, with readiness to learn multiple process technologies and to work in a cleanroom

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics required; Master’s preferred.
• Hands-on experience with thin film processing and process development a plus.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, or JMP for data analysis of yields.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, load, and monitor specialized equipment on the production floor.
• Provide technical support to wafer fab operations and drive process improvements.
• Work across multiple process technologies including thin films, photolithography, diffusion/implant, metrology, and etch.
