Job summary

BCG Attorney Search is seeking a Patent Agent with semiconductor experience to join its Intellectual Property team in Palo Alto, CA. The role involves preparing draft patent applications and responses to USPTO communications, and assisting attorneys in delivering high-quality legal services.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, 3+ years in patent prep/prosecution, and strong communication skills. A hybrid work model and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, materials, physics, chemical engineering, or related field.
• USPTO registration preferred.
• At least 3 years of patent prep/prosecution experience in semiconductor.
• Strong investigative and problem resolution skills.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of current and emerging developments in the field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare draft patent applications and responses to USPTO communications.
• Discuss scientific aspects of inventions with clients and inventors.
• Act as liaison between inventors and the Patent & Trademark Office.
• Evaluate and report on technological aspects of inventions.
• Draft, organize, analyze, review, and summarize documents.
