Job summary

RTX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Goleta, CA to oversee focal plane array assembly and support manufacturing operations in a cleanroom environment. You will generate build plans from engineering drawings, maintain BOMs, and lead tooling and process improvements within an integrated product team.

The role requires a STEM degree, 2+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• U.S. Citizen or eligible for government clearance. Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering and process improvement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assembly of focal plane arrays and optical components from design through shipment.
• Provide engineering support for manufacturing operations per drawings and specs.
• Create and maintain bills of materials, process flow travelers and work instructions.
• Develop assembly planning and tooling concepts to support production.
• Lead project work within cross-functional teams and drive corrective actions.
