Job summary

RTX in Goleta, California, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS). You will oversee assembly of focal plane arrays and optical components, interpret drawings into build plans, and maintain bills of materials and work instructions in a cleanroom environment.

Collaborate with production, quality, and design engineering to ensure processes meet quality standards; contribute to continuous improvement and lead Integrated Product Team efforts.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance are required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the assembly of focal plane arrays and optical components from design implementation through shipment.
• Provide engineering support for manufacturing operations, including interpreting drawings and specifications into build plans.
• Create and maintain bills of materials, process flow travelers, and work instructions.
• Develop and implement assembly planning and tooling concepts to support production.
• Manage process and tooling activities, review defective materials, and lead problem‑solving efforts and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and design engineering to ensure processes meet quality and performance standards.
• Support first article inspections to ensure hardware meets program quality requirements.
• Work in a semiconductor cleanroom environment wearing full coverall garments and adhering to cleanroom principles.
• Lead projects as part of an Integrated Product Team to meet program goals.
