Job summary

RTX Goleta manufactures focal plane arrays and optical components, providing manufacturing engineering support to assemble high‑quality hardware. The role emphasizes translating designs into build plans, maintaining BOMs, and developing tooling concepts to improve production efficiency.

You will collaborate across production, quality, and design engineering, lead projects within Integrated Product Teams, and operate in a semiconductor cleanroom environment under security clearance requirements,

Qualifications

Typically requires STEM degree with ≤2 years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
U.S. citizenship is required for DoD clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

Oversee the assembly of focal plane arrays and optical components from design through shipment.
Provide engineering support for manufacturing operations and translate drawings into build plans.
Create and maintain bills of materials, process flow travelers, and work instructions.
Develop assembly planning and tooling concepts to support production.
Manage process and tooling activities, disposition defective materials, and lead corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure processes meet quality standards.
Support first article inspections to ensure hardware meets program requirements.
Work in a semiconductor cleanroom and follow cleanroom principles.
Lead projects as part of an Integrated Product Team to meet goals.
