Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a field engineer to provide mechanical systems expertise at the Fab 62 project in Chandler, AZ. You will handle work planning, material management, quantity verification, safety, and coordination with construction teams to ensure safe, efficient execution in a demanding chipmaking facility.

Ideal candidates bring 5–12 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of mechanical construction practices, and familiarity with codes, standards, and digital planning tools.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in semiconductor, data center, EV battery, or industrial construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to superintendents and craft for mechanical installation activities including equipment setting, HVAC systems, and associated mechanical components.
• Support development and implementation of inspection and test plans for mechanical systems.
• Perform field inspections and ensure installations meet project specifications, codes, and quality requirements.
• Prepare and support work packages and detailed short-term schedules aligned with construction priorities.
• Prepare construction sketches, field change documentation, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering to resolve constructability issues and design clarifications.
• Manage quantity take-offs, tracking, reporting, and forecasting for mechanical scopes.
• Support material management activities including requisitions, expediting, receipt inspections, and proper storage.
• Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and other disciplines to maintain construction progress and avoid rework.
• Ensure compliance with project ES&H and quality programs.
