Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc., in Pascagoula, MS, is hiring Semi-Skilled Welders to join our shipbuilding team. You will weld structural components using SMAW and FCAW to help build the nation’s naval vessels.

We offer hands-on skill development, opportunities for overtime, and pathways to advance into higher craft levels. This role requires physical work in a large shipyard and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of FCAW and SMAW welding experience.
• Ability to pass welding tests in 3G, 2G and 4G positions and pass x-ray quality weld test.
• Ability to read basic weld symbols and drawings.
• Willingness to work in active shipyard environments.
• On-site work in Pascagoula, MS.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding using SMAW (stick welding) and FCAW (wire welding).
• Join metal components to fabricate and assemble ship parts.
• Read and interpret weld symbols, measurements, drawings and blueprints.
• Work in shipboard environments with heights, confined spaces, and variable conditions.
• Support production in a 24/7 manufacturing environment and be available for any shift.
