You will fabricate ductwork, exhaust, and related panels, interpreting blueprints and using metalforming tools. Expect to work across multiple shifts in a large shipyard environment and contribute to long‑term reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year sheetmetal experience or related craft experience such as joiner, shipfitting, or carpentry.
• Experience reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to use metalforming tools and perform shop mathematics.
• Demonstrated precision, safety, and teamwork in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, cut, bend, form, and install sheetmetal components to exact specifications.
• Build and install ductwork, venting systems, exhaust systems, metal containers, instrumentation panels, and shipboard structures.
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints using shop mathematics.
• Use brakes, shears, rollers, grinders, drills, and layout tools.
• Verify measurements and maintain accuracy to Ingalls craftsmanship and safety standards.
• Work in shipyard environments with heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
• Support production across multiple shifts to meet ship construction schedules.
