Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services, seeks a Semi-Skilled Laborer for Warren State Hospital to perform hands-on maintenance across the campus, supporting construction, facilities repairs, and grounds care.

You will work 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed; this is a limited-term full-time position with free parking and no telework.

Qualifications

• One year of laboring experience with tools used in maintenance or construction.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.
• PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

• Grounds work: cut grass, trim shrubs, rake debris, maintain outdoor areas.
• Material handling: load/unload trucks, move furniture, transport materials.
• Maintenance support: perform basic repairs to buildings using various tools.
• Trade assistance: assist skilled workers with demolition, cement mixing, scaffolding setup.
• Snow removal: clear snow from walkways and work areas in winter conditions.
• Painting tasks: prepare surfaces and apply paint to walls, ceilings and woodwork.
