Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services at Warren State Hospital is seeking a Semi-Skilled Laborer to help maintain buildings and grounds to high standards. This hands-on role involves grounds work, material handling, and basic repairs in a hospital setting.

You will work 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime and travel as needed. A valid PA driver’s license and ability to perform essential job functions are required; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in laboring work including use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction.
• Equivalents in experience and training may apply.
• Must possess a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Grounds work including mowing, shrub trimming, debris removal, and outdoor area upkeep with hand and power tools.
• Move and load materials, furniture, or equipment as needed.
• Provide basic maintenance and repair support for buildings and facilities.
• Assist skilled workers with demolition, cement mixing, and scaffold setup.
• Snow removal from walkways and work areas during winter.
• Prepare surfaces and apply paint to walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
