Job summary

Castle Education in Scarborough seeks compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEMH needs across schools. You will provide 1:1 emotional support, help with emotional regulation, and build positive relationships to boost engagement and wellbeing.

Key duties include assisting with reintegration into learning, supporting behaviour, and collaborating with teachers and safeguarding teams to create a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Strong patience and empathy in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 emotional support to pupils in need.
• Help pupils manage emotions and cope with challenges.
• Build trusting relationships to encourage engagement in class.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
