Job summary

HP is seeking a Physical Analysis Technician to perform SEM and mechanical X-section analyses on materials and components in support of R&D, product development, and manufacturing. You will collaborate with Engineering to solve product problems and communicate results while upholding good laboratory practices in safety, calibration, quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include high-quality data generation, detailed reporting, and using LIMS to manage tasks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of analytical or R&D lab technician experience.
• 3+ years of SEM experience; mechanical cross-section experience a plus.
• AA/AS degree in chemistry, metals, materials, physics, computers, electronics or similar technology, or equivalent combination of education and job experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform SEM and mechanical X-section analyses on materials and components.
• Provide high-quality data and detailed lab reports; use SFT LIMS to manage requests and priorities.
• Develop methods, document procedures, and support quality systems through proper technique and gauge studies.
• Communicate results with engineering partners and help identify root causes of problems.
